Salon Lofts

The client originally came to Nyman requesting the construction of a new building for its most recent Salon Lofts location. However, due to strict local zoning restrictions on Chagrin Boulevard in Woodmere, Ohio, a new structure would have to be moved considerably farther back on the property, significantly extending the frontage and adversely affect Salon’s visibility. So the owners sought Nyman’s counsel on how to adhere to the building codes, but get a new building on the existing footprint. Nyman’s ingenious solution was to demo the build, leave its foundation, utilizing it for the construction of a new building envelope (i.e. walls, roof). After careful research, Nyman learned that doing so does not violate local building codes, giving the client the best of both worlds: a “new” building with ideal frontage!
